♞ General

🤔 What is FAST?

Our mission is to connect farmed animal advocates, and increase collaboration among the community. FAST stands for Farmed Animal Strategic Team.

🤵 Who is the group meant to serve?

This email group is intended for those whose work (whether career or volunteering) focuses on farmed animal issues or in a highly related field.

👂 Who is on the list?

FAST is made up of over 1,800 members working against factory farming from across the globe! This ranges from volunteers, to part time and full-time members in our movement.

🙋‍♀️ How to add a member?

They can apply to join by using this link. Feel free to share this link with those you think may add or provide value to the FAST List. You are encouraged to apply with your organization email, otherwise you may be flagged for review before being added to FAST.

💪 How do I choose my preferences?

You can now customize your FAST experience, such as which types of emails you would like to receive, how frequently, and other settings using the same form!

🙏 What can I share with members?

This list allows members to share important information that aids in strategy and action for farmed animals and highly related fields (wild animal suffering, insect factory farming, etc).

For example—emails about campaigns, events, research, jobs, grants, media, webinars, surveys, new resources, apps, scholarships, etc.

You’ll want to pack your email with value: For example, with research or reports, drop your key findings, link your sources, and suggest next steps. For campaigns, sketch out your plan and what you need folks to do. Hiring? List the role, the salary, and how to apply. Funding? Share who’s eligible, how much, and the deadline.

👀 How do I send a message to the group?

You can send an email to: submit@fastcommunity.org

…just like you would send any email! Make sure you are sending from the email with which you are subscribed to the FAST List, otherwise your email will get rejected.

Please note that the older Google Groups email for FAST remains active. Feel free to continue using it or adopt the new simpler email address above for your FAST submissions.

👩‍💻 What else should I know?

  • You may only send 1 email every two weeks, so please prioritize carefully!

  • Based on the overwhelming feedback, we have disabled reply-all for all emails.

  • You can either get emails as they come in, or all at once at the end of the day.

  • Your email should send within 15 minutes as it goes through our AI filters.

  • You cannot send attachments! If you want to share a file, share it as a link.

    • You can use Google Drive, or other services, but make sure it’s a public link.

🥷 Can I send an email anonymously through FAST?

Yes! But usually it’s best to send from your real address so people can reply and trust it. Still, anonymous emails come in handy for private investigations, AG conference reports, or protecting your privacy with sensitive info.

Important: FAST staff can view anonymous senders to prevent system abuse but will never disclose their private information. All emails, whether anonymous or not, require review and approval before going live, which may cause a short delay.

If you'd like to send an email anonymously, submit to: anonymous@fastcommunity.org

Your name and email will not be displayed— just please be sure to remove your name or signature at the end of your email, or it won't be so anonymous. :)

🤩 How do I get my job posting or victory in FAST digest emails?

Easy! Just post them twice—send a normal FAST email, and create a forum post.

On the FAST Animal Advocacy Forum, use “Victories and Achievements” for wins and “Careers and Volunteering” for job posts. Every Monday we pull new forum posts into the FAST email digest, so you’ll reach both inbox and digest-only subscribers.

♞ Code of Conduct

👋 As a member of this group, you commit to treating others with respect and to be part of a safe and inclusive community. The FAST community does not harass, discriminate, abuse, or retaliate.

⚠️ If a member is reported or found to have engaged in harassing, threatening, inappropriate, or unsafe behavior, FAST retains the right to take any actions reasonable or necessary to keep the community a safe and welcoming environment for all. This includes, but is not limited to, expulsion from the group.

Any FAST member who believes they have witnessed or been subjected to harassment or discrimination should report it immediately to david@fastcommunity.org.

No policy can list all forms of harassment— reports are handled individually.

Additionally, please review the following:

👉 Relevant Content: Content posted should aid in strategy and action for farmed animals and highly related fields (wild animal suffering, insect factory farming, etc).

👉 Quality Content: You’re reaching 1,800+ advocates worldwide—awesome! Before you hit send, double-check that your info is solid, relevant, and has a clear “what’s next” for readers.

👉 Forwarding: Forwarding a message? Please remove any personal emails, phone numbers, or unrelated details so folks’ privacy stays safe.

👉 Internationally Friendly: FAST is international! If you use local slang, acronyms, or country-specific refs, add a quick explanation so everyone can follow.

👉 No Self-Promotion or Sales: FAST isn’t a marketplace—please don’t pitch products or services here. If you’re unsure, just drop david@fastcommunity.org a quick note.

👉 No Donation Requests: Looking for fundraising support? Post your request in our dedicated fundraising forum rather than the main list.

👉 Stay Classy: Always keep it professional. Use respectful, clear language—think of FAST as a space for serious work, not casual chit-chat. No bad words, all-caps, disrespectful tone.

Thanks for helping make FAST welcoming, useful, and respectful for everyone!
